Today is Blog Day One to start the blog that has been forming in my mind's eye for quite a while now. It's a good time to start since it's now summer vacation and there are some things to share. I'll be posting photos, card and craft creations, family events, recipes...
This June my niece's baby was baptised in a full Greek Orthodox Ceremony in a beautiful Greek Church with a few family members and close friends in attendance. Nina, Eli's godmother and a life-long friend of my niece, planned and prepared the whole event. As a life-long Lutheran, I was used to baptisms and much of the liturgy that was used, but the whole ceremony was truly more awesome than I expected, having many traditional rituals including dunking the baby three times. Since both my niece's husband and father-in-law are Greeks and were baptised in the same way, Eli's baptism continued the family traditions.
I'll let the photos show some of that special day...but first I have to figure out how to get the photos from my memory card, hopefully later today.
